My name is Deborah Smith and I am a self directed, motivated, and determined professional, with years of experience in : education and human services, as well as business ownership. My desire to grow in the education and human services industry, is rooted in my passion to learn, lead and educate others through creativity, motivation and perseverance. I am always seeking new information that will assist in my growth and knowledge in the previously mentioned fields. I have had the privilege of working in this industry as not only a culinary professional, and educator, but also a successful business owner. That being said, having had the honor of co-owning a successful cookie company ( Vanilla Bean Unique Cookies), that offered me regional and national exposure ( appeared on Food Network), I maintained my desire to teach, and develop my instructional career- no matter the path.

Currently, I am able to use my skills in the Culinary, Baking and Hospitality field for greater good. I teach at the College and High School level in a vocational setting and truly enjoy passing on my knowledge to eager students. That being said, over the years in the culinary education industry, I have begun to realize how teaching can be much more than expected. Teaching has led me to my original desire to work with students on a more personal level; regaining my previous plans of working in the Human Services field. As an instructor, we wear many hats and the classroom and lab setting is only part of our daily routine. We are much more to our students, for example: life skills coach, counselor, and friend, to name a few. That being said, this profession has made me realize that I still have that spark to work with persons and students on many levels and look forward to continued success.

I am now looking forward to relocating to Fort Myers, Florida, in June of 2019. I will be seeking new opportunities, that allow me to grow in my field as well as other options. My skills in the areas of : effective time management, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to work effectively with all ages and demographics as well as my creative side , makes me a distinct candidate for your business or company.
