Presently I am working at the Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital and Research Center, a 1500 + bed Tertiary Care Multispecialty Charitable Hospital. I have the overall responsibility of making certain that the facility is operating efficiently and ensuring adequate medical treatment to patients is provided. I act as liaison between the board, clinical staff members, and department heads to implement policies so that departments function as a whole. As an Administrator I also plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and control all areas of health services, including human resources, finance, information technology, and insurance.
As a CSR Head I liaison with NGO’s Like the Rotary International, Lions International and Corporate companies for organizing CSR activities at the Hospital.
I was instrumental in setting up the New Dialysis Unit with 10 Beds and also received a fully equipped Mobile Clinic and Dental Van and a Blood Donation Bus with 5 Beds through these CSR activities.
I also set processes which increased the productivity and efficiency of the O.T. Complex performance by 12% within a Year.

My responsibilities as a Hospital Administrator are to:-

•Provide general oversight of all Hospital activities and manage the day-to-day operations, and assure a smooth functioning and efficient organization.
•Assure program quality and organizational stability through development and implementation of standards and control, systems and procedures, and do regular evaluation.
•Assure a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and volunteers. Assure process for selecting, development, motivating, and evaluating staff and volunteers.
•Recommend staffing and financing to the Board of Directors. In accordance with Board action, recruit personnel, negotiate professional contracts, and see that appropriate salary structures are developed and maintained.
•Specify accountabilities for management personnel (whether paid or volunteer) and evaluate performance regularly.
•Helps the Board articulate its own role and accountabilities and that of its committees and individual members, and help evaluate performance regularly.
•Work with the Board President / Chair to enable the Board to fulfill its governance functions and facilitates the optimum performance by the Board, its committees and individual Board members.
•With the Board President / Chair, focuses Board attention on long-range strategic issues.
•Manage the Board’s due diligence process to assure timely attention to core issues.
•Work with the Board officers and committee chairs to get the best thinking and involvement of each Board member.
•Recommend volunteers to participate in the Board and its committees.
•Work with Board to ensure financing to support short- and long-term goals.
•Assure an effective fund development program by serving as the chief development officer or hiring and supervising an individual responsible for this activity.
•Help the Board and its development committee design, implement and monitor a viable fundraising plan, policies and procedures.
•Participate actively in identifying, cultivating and soliciting donor prospects. Assure the availability of materials to support solicitation.
•Identify appropriate communication, and coordination for ensuring smooth processes within the Operating Rooms, supporting Anesthetists, Surgeons, Registrars, and medical students, Nursing and Healthcare Coordinators. Supervise and coordinate activities of personnel in the operating room. Ensure adherence to procedure and schedule.
•Oversee pre- and post-operative care of patients.
•To assist in the assessment and implementation of patient care needs within the Operating Department and ensure all patients are treated in a professional manner and that confidentiality is adhered to.
•To ensure that agreed stock levels are maintained and consumption levels are monitored and utilized effectively.
•To promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with all members of the Theatre team and with other Departments within the Hospital.
•Provide quality planned care for patients during their preoperative phase of care by ensuring all departmental members deliver quality patient care, being achieved within the available resources Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care.
•Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.
•Work with others to optimize theatre utilization, taking action with regards underutilization of lists as appropriate.
•Ensure any accidents or complaints are fully documented on the hospitals Event Data Base and if applicable that the appropriate manager is informed and commence the investigation. Complete all written documentation in a timely manner and to an acceptable level ensuring others do the same.
•Be aware of and comply with all infection prevention and control policies and ensure best practice is maintained to ensure low infection rates.
