Agile Coach

112091BR

Job Description

We need an Agile champion – someone with the knowledge and influence to help us embed Agile in our IT function and beyond. There’s huge scope here to change our mindset and maximise the value we derive; it could be a CV-changing role for you.

What’s the role?

It’s a great time to bring your Agile and Lean skills to Shell, specifically to our IT enterprise. You’ll be instrumental in helping us to establish and evolve an Agile mindset – not just within IT project teams, but also in the wider stakeholder community. You’ll need to leverage existing processes and practices and steer the IT enterprise towards full best practice for Agile project delivery, DevOps and related capabilities.

We’re looking for someone who’s highly collaborative, excited by change and ready to rise to challenges including:

  • Teaching, mentoring and coaching individuals, teams, and leadership to understand and apply Agile and Lean values, principles, and practices.
  • Working across organisational boundaries and with external partners and suppliers to cultivate an Agile community; driving effective practice embedding.
  • Involving people in change and influencing through others to ensure that IT (and the wider business) understands Agility – and how we can derive maximum value from it.
  • Maximising efficiency, driving out waste and pinpointing activities that add value.

Requirements

What we need from you

You’ll call on proven experience in enterprise-wide Agile transformation, both working as a part of Agile CoE and as a leader and driver. You have implemented one or more Scaled Agile frameworks (ideally, in different organisations) and delivered results using Lean Agile practices, within projects. Now, you’re ready to discover, assess and embed emerging industry best practices to our business.

When it comes to fostering an Agile Mindset, it’s your personal skills that will make all the difference. You’re a thought leader and team player -someone who can bring out the best in others, build communities and encourage sharing of knowledge and best practice. You know how to communicate and coach people across different lines of business in a global organisation – whether that’s in person, or by leveraging platforms such as conferences, meet-ups and articles.

On top of that, we’re keen to hear from men and women whose CVs include as many of the following as possible:

  • Proven ability to measure the quality of Agile adoption across the organisation; experience of defining, building, testing and improving critical success factors and KPIs.
  • Significant DevOps capability; able to define and lead the development of an IT-wide model for DevOps.
  • Best Practice expertise (including process, data and tooling integration).
  • Broad understanding of the overall IT application/infrastructure, processes, governance and supplier landscape.
  • Ideally, proven experience in continuous improvement using techniques such as: Lean; Kaizen; process maturity benchmarking.
  • Ideally, one or more relevant certifications e.g.: PMI-ACP, CSP, PSM-II, CEC, SPC, ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF.
