Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in one of the following areas; Internet Industry, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Risk and Fraud Investigation, User Trust, or Policy Enforcement.
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas; coding, databases and querying, and/or front end development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Experience with project management and process optimization with a data analytics component.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide clear solutions with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak and write in Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Thai, or Chinese, fluently and idiomatically.

As a Search Analyst, you’ll develop and manage cross-functional relationships with Engineering, Product, Legal, Sales, and Operations teams in a multifaceted effort to improve the search experience. You will lead efforts to improve our processes for identifying and resolving quality challenges. You’ll be responsible for analyzing market trends, exploring new technologies, and ensuring a high-quality experience for our users. You will review a great deal of web search results and websites in your local languages, and discuss nuances of Google product policies.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the quality of Google’s search results through investigation, prevention and removal of search quality challenges.
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve quality challenges and market trends related to Google Search.
  • Troubleshoot challenges and product vulnerabilities to implement large-scale quality improvements in collaboration with Google Engineering teams.
  • Lead projects and cross-functional initiatives within Google, interacting with stakeholders from Engineering, Legal, Product teams and more.
  • Develop and share practices for search quality investigation and analysis.
