Job title: Career Coach, APAC

Location: Hong Kong, Singapore (open to other locations within APAC)

The Role:

As Career Coach for the APAC region, you will play a critical role in building a new careers philosophy in S&P Global, and helping our people navigate their future. Through work which is meaningful, facilitative and actionable, you will help create a culture of compelling and substantive career conversations.

With direction and oversight from the Chief People Officer, and in partnership with Talent and People Strategy, you will provide one-on-one career coaching within the APAC region and drive tangible and impactful outcomes. In addition, as an integral member of the Global Career Coach team, you will bring cutting edge thought and coaching best practice into S&P Global through building a sustainable and accessible coaching model and designing and deploying company-wide learning opportunities.

An objective and trusted advisor to our people, you will work with key stakeholders to drive cross-enterprise mobility and expand coaching beyond the leadership ranks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand S&P Global businesses’ strategy, people priorities and challenges at both the macro and micro levels, and make meaningful connections to processes and people: ‘join the dots’
  • As a member of the global Career Coach team, you will help build and operationalize the Career Coach operating model and playbook
  • Build and maintain relationships across the organization to actively promote career opportunities. Work across organizational lines and silos
  • Partner with and influence key stakeholders – business leaders, people managers, people partners – to facilitate career moves and identify individuals who will benefit from coaching
  • Through personalized coaching, help our people connect their skills and passions to the goals of the organization and realize their career goals
  • Leverage knowledge of internal open roles to proactively counsel people on opportunities. Provide them with information and insights to help them explore a wide range of career options. Coach our people to view careers more broadly
  • Support our people in navigating the internal selection process
  • Partner with colleagues across the People Team – People Partners, Talent (Acquisition, Development, Diversity & Inclusion) Rewards & Benefits – to ensure smooth execution of career moves
  • Identify and cultivate internal mentor networks to support career development
  • Act as a subject matter expert in assessment methodologies. Leverage assessment as appropriate in the coaching process, e.g. to create insights, build self-awareness, and help inform career development actions
  • Track progress and outcomes of coaching engagements.  Identify themes and trends, and provide insights to leadership to inform talent and development strategies
  • Work with global Career Coach colleagues to create a coaching community and share insights, opportunities and candidates
  • Lead learning opportunities at the team and organizational level – for example team assessment and development, talent exchanges with external partners – to embed a broader and more fluid understanding of careers
  • Keep a keen eye on external developments and proactively bring cutting edge thought and best practice into S&P Global’s internal coaching practice

  • Stays current, and is tuned into the external environment and best practices in the fields of coaching and talent development

Qualifications:

  • Coaching certification from ICF-accredited institution or willingness to commit to obtaining this
  • Experience in assessment and certification in assessment tools a plus. Willingness to gain certification in assessment tools to be used in the coaching process
  • Strong coaching skills and a passion for helping people discover their inner resourcefulness.  8+ years’ experience coaching individuals and teams on careers and development
