Job Description

Away From Home (AFH) comprises of workplace, hospitality, foodservice, and convenience channels. The AFH customers primarily consist of a large distributor network.

SUMMARY:  The Manager, Beverage Commercialization – Away From Home (AFH) is responsible for the overall support of the AFH beverage strategy and leading the commercialization process including: portfolio and assortment management, beverage brand strategy, beverage performance analysis, and commercialization of all beverage brands (owned, licensed, partner) within the AFH channel. The Beverage Commercialization Manager will own the AFH new product commercialization process, responsible for all deliverables to the Core Beverage Review Board (CBRB); this includes leading cross-functions to ensure all tasks are executed flawlessly for each Stage Gate presentation, ensuring cross-functions follow project timelines closely, and delivering upon project launch dates. He/she will work closely with sales, strategy, brand, IRI, and consumer insights teams to analyze beverage performance as needed, support beverage strategies, and provide SKU optimization recommendations in all AFH channels. This role will own the selling story content development for AFH new product launches and lead the creation of the Commit-to-Trade presentations to the AFH sales force and their customers. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for managing the Commit-From-Trade process working closely with the AFH sales teams and supply chain to ensure timely, sufficient, and accurate forecasts for new items. This role will assist in the development and execution of promotional programs to manage brand share across the AFH channels, working closely with AFH customer, brand and partners teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the AFH new product commercialization process including all deliverables to the Core Beverage Review Board (CBRB)
  • Create and coordinate new brand/partner launches, which includes leading cross-functions to ensure all action items are executed for each Stage Gate presentation throughout the commercialization process
  • Ensure project timelines are met accordingly by various cross-functional stakeholders
  • Own the Commit-to-Trade and Commit-From-Trade Process for all new beverage launches
  • Deliver upon new product launch dates out to the AFH sales team and the AFH customers
  • Conduct AFH beverage analysis and reporting on an as-needed basis
  • Track new items & brands through weekly reporting
  • Work closely with sales, strategy, brand, IRI, and consumer insights teams to analyze beverage performance
  • Support beverage strategies for all owned, licensed, and partner brands
  • Track portfolio performance, and implement product/brand/SKU rationalization strategies working with key customers and sales teams
  • Support launch of new beverage items with necessary input into commercial launch strategy, development of marketing programs and collateral, and other required selling tools
  • Provide input for brand and pack objectives, roles and assortment
  • Monitor and track unlicensed share in AFH marketplace
  • Partner with AFH strategy and customer marketing to plan annual beverage promotions
  • Work directly with select customers
  • Develop effective and respectful relationships with all stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business with minimum 5-7 years of related work experience, preferably in a “Fortune 500” company learning selling and/or marketing skills, or in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), beverage or related industries
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and the customer
  • Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent analytical skills to perform ad-hoc analysis and weekly reporting; IRI skills preferred
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to create powerful presentation content to tell a story across various audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to deliver deadlines and priorities in a complex environment
  • Outstanding preparation skills needed to conduct meetings
  • Deep level of ownership with the ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders towards the same end goal
  • Strong thought-leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are a must
