The Team:

Our legal team is comprised of legal and non-legal professionals to supports the MI division’s commercial organisation, product development/technology functions and business management/leadership. The Impact:

Our Contract Negotiators are engaged in the dynamic area of client and vendor contracting, primarily tasked with negotiating and drafting contracts for financial information and analytical products and services such as web-based platforms, data feeds and software.What’s in it for You:

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft contracts such as product licenses, vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, software licenses, and amendments. You will become well-versed in commonly used alternate provisions and drafting customized contract provisions.
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly with internal and external clients in the contract negotiation process; ensure that sales and business personnel align with internal policies and procedures.
  • Navigate contracts database and other internal systems to obtain, correct and update information on our company’s contractual relationships.
  • Draft legal correspondence and other documents related to vendor and customer agreements.
  • Train the commercial team on internal licensing procedures and systems.
  • Work with management to create efficiencies in the contracting process.
  • Participate in and/or lead projects, including due diligence activities related to acquisitions and divestiture.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a sizeable law firm or corporation in a relevant area of practice.
  • A can-do attitude, ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and manage the expectations of clients and sales people.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. You should be people oriented, collegial, and confident handling frequent client-facing interactions (via e-mail, phone, and in-person).
  • Strong verbal/written communication and accurate, succinct business writing abilities in at least English.
  • Ease with working independently but advancing issues as needed.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple priorities at the simultaneously.
  • Excellent organisational skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and to adapt swiftly in accordance  with changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior paralegal or business/legal affairs department experience
  • Solid working knowledge of general contract law and of intellectual property issues.
  • Skilled in using Salesforce and contracts management tool within it (Apptus create-a-contract)
  • Working Experience in the financial services industry and coordinating with sales and product management departments
  • An ability to at least converse in French, German, Italian and/or Spanish would be welcomed
