Where you fit in
As Electrical Technician, you’ll be based at Shell Fife Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Plant in central Fife.
The plant plays a key role in maximising the value of the North Sea’s natural resources, processing NGL to be shipped worldwide.
You’re going to be a vital part of the plant’s multi-discipline Electrical Maintenance Department, carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance activities across all electrical equipment within a hazardous environment.
What’s the role?

This is a role with a wide-range of responsibilities that are pivotal to driving the maintenance success of your team, in line with company procedures and to budget. Specific duties will include some of the following:

  • Maintaining all aspects of electrical network equipment incl. switchgear, transformers, HV/LV Motors and UPS Systems.
  • Recording technical history on task completion.
  • Assisting in reviewing and updating department procedures.
  • Participating in the Maintenance Rota for Safety critical and Production critical breakdowns.
  • Participating in the site duty rota, responding to emergency situations as required.
You’ll also call on your natural communication skills, nurturing strong working relationships within a small team, yet ensuring collaboration with the wider maintenance and operations departments.

Requirements

What we need from you

We’re keen to hear from men and women with extensive experience in electrical maintenance within Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical or Heavy Industry (Marine and Power).  Along with minimal ONC certification in Electrical Engineering and SVQ Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Beyond that, we’d hope to see some evidence that you’re as comfortable with people as processes, able to nurture good working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
