We have an immediate opening for an advanced product engineer in the Light Axle Advanced Engineering Group. This position will focus on the design & development of new products to meet the future needs of our global customers.  Other duties include but are not limited to the following.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead in the development of new light vehicle axle products.

• Lead in the development and evaluation of oil cooling and lubrication systems.

• Lead testing of electric axles.

• Lead in identifying new product opportunities.

• Lead in defining potential design solutions.
• Lead in evaluating key product parameters.
• Assist with the evaluation of product design and CAE analysis.

• Assist selection of optimum design solution.
• Assist in defining product performance goals.

• Assist the product DFMEA.

• Assist Advanced Product Engineers with the design of new products.

• Assist with product prototype manufacture assembly and modification.

• Coordinate the product development tests, bench and potentially vehicle tests.
• Assist in design rules for key product parameters against product performance.
• Assist applications in customer proposals and customer presentations.

Requirements:
• Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering, B.S.M.E. from an accredited institution. Consideration may be given      

  to candidates with other degrees such as aeronautical or electrical.

• 3-5 years experience in product development – primarily electric drive.

• Experience with electric drive traction motors.

• Experience with medium and high voltage electrical systems.

• Experience with lubrication flow development.

• Experience with instrumentation and test stand design.

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and analytical ability.

• Experience testing electric/hybrid systems.

• Must have strong project management skills to meet project milestones.

• Ability to work with other departments and suppliers to meet project milestones.
• Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Willingness and ability to work extended or irregular hours when necessary.
• Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility.
