Work within the standards of a Project Management Office to successfully coordinate and complete projects across all areas of the organization. Use tools and methods from the 5 stages of project management – Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring/Control, and Closeout.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordination and completion of assigned projects, coordinated efforts, and change requests using Project Management tools and methods
- Ensure projects are completed with the agreed upon scope, on time, and within budget
- Work with Portfolio Manager, IT Leadership, and Operational departments to obtain the appropriate project resources
- Lead large, moderately complex projects within the project portfolio
- Facilitate and lead project team meetings to manage relationships and expectations, report on project status, manage change and risk, and coach and mentor resources as needed
- Develop project artifacts, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor/report progress through use Of Gantt charts, spreadsheets and other PMO tools
- Negotiate and communicate across all levels of the organization
- Work with project sponsors, stakeholders, and Finance to produce the appropriate financial information and artifacts
- Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on Project Management techniques
- Prioritize work to meet deadlines
- In conjunction with the Sr. Project Managers, review, develop, and implement operational improvements to the PMO processes and train others on their use
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated Project Management experience
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to effectively influence people
- Fully proficient in the execution of the 5 stages of project management: Initiation, Planning Execution, Monitor and Control, Closeout. Be able to articulate this understanding with relevant work experience
- Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Microsoft Project, Visio and Access
- Ability to facilitate and negotiate consensus around project and/or product goals
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present, persuade and provide professional presentations to both internal and external Customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong time-management skills
- Good organization skills and the ability to balance projects of varying complexity simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- National Career Readiness Certificate
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Military or Government contract project experience
