Work within the standards of a Project Management Office to successfully coordinate and complete projects across all areas of the organization.  Use tools and methods from the 5 stages of project management – Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring/Control, and Closeout. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for coordination and completion of assigned projects, coordinated efforts, and change requests using Project Management tools and methods
  • Ensure projects are completed with the agreed upon scope, on time, and within budget
  • Work with Portfolio Manager, IT Leadership, and Operational departments to obtain the appropriate project resources
  • Lead large, moderately complex projects within the project portfolio
  • Facilitate and lead project team meetings to manage relationships and expectations, report on project status, manage change and risk, and coach and mentor resources as needed
  • Develop project artifacts, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor/report progress through use Of Gantt charts, spreadsheets and other PMO tools
  • Negotiate and communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Work with project sponsors, stakeholders, and Finance to produce the appropriate financial information and artifacts
  • Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on Project Management techniques
  • Prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • In conjunction with the Sr. Project Managers, review, develop, and implement operational improvements to the PMO processes and train others on their use

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience 
  • 3+ years of demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to effectively influence people
  • Fully proficient in the execution of the 5 stages of project management: Initiation, Planning Execution, Monitor and Control, Closeout. Be able to articulate this understanding with relevant work experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Microsoft Project, Visio and Access
  • Ability to facilitate and negotiate consensus around project and/or product goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present, persuade and provide professional presentations to both internal and external Customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong time-management skills
  • Good organization skills and the ability to balance projects of varying complexity simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Military or Government contract project experience
