Where you fit in
As Maintenance Manager Retail, you’re going to be a key part of our Commercial and Retail team, as the lead contact for overall maintenance excellence in the retail market, with the potential for big impact on the business.
Working within a diverse team, you’ll lead Shell’s partnership with its Facility Management Company (FMC), developing and delivering maintenance strategy and operations across our retail sites within the Netherlands.
What’s the role?
This is a role where you’ll truly be able to stretch your leadership potential, shaping a strategic relationship with the FMC, setting targets for driving performance and reducing risk, and achieving our commitment to delivering high quality, effective and efficient maintenance.
In practice, you can expect to be managing a new maintenance system, reviewing and approving maintenance strategy, developing a clear direction with the FMC, and planning maintenance priorities. Always with the aim to achieving optimum value for the retail market and our customers.
Results driven, you’ll thrive on spotting operational problems, identifying opportunities to enhance commercial value, utilizing digitalization for smart maintenance solutions, and managing costs to make savings.
More specific duties include:
- Leading operational and performance reviews and ensuring timely performance reporting.
- Managing compliance and license documentation for maintenance activities and inspections.
- Driving HSSE (Health Safety Security Environment) approach and compliance.
- Managing equipment replacement proposals and procurement strategies.
Naturally, strong communication and negotiation skills are going to be essential to this role, as you nurture strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, vendors and contractors.
Requirements
What we need from you
We’re keen to hear from men and women who are confident self-starters, fluent in Dutch and English, and with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably within a technical discipline. Beyond your extensive experience of working within maintenance, and strong technical skills, you’ll need to show us evidence of the following on your CV:
- Experience of successfully leading teams to delivery.
- An ability to drive and manage HSSE.
- Experience in managing CI projects, and Green Belt Certification, will be an advantage.
- Open to regular travel within The Netherlands and occasionally to Benelux
