Marketing Manager, New Channel Expansion

DESCRIPTION

The Social Advertising team is looking for a Marketing Manager to define the experiment strategy and provide inputs on drive integrations with new and emerging social platforms (e.g., Spotify, reddit, Pinterest, etc.). Increasingly, more social platforms transition to the monetization phase of their lifecycle and offer Amazon the opportunity to reach our customers in new and unique ways. The Marketing Manager will work closely with our worldwide marketing teams, our in-house engineering team, as well as external advertising partners, in order to build scalable advertising solutions for Amazon.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in creating online marketing campaigns, A/B and multivariate testing and excel in execution. Furthermore, you will be highly innovative and comfortable driving new programs from conception through execution in a greenfield, ambiguous and fast paced environment. A large part of the role involves working with engineering teams in order to drive product vision, prioritize requirements, and rapidly define and build simple solutions to complex problems. You will be savvy about how to leverage experiment results to create actionable recommendations. You will have a global mindset, and be equally comfortable working with marketing, engineering, legal, and business development, both internally and externally.

Core responsibilities
· Work directly with social advertising partners to understand their ad platforms and explore marketing campaigns
· Design and carry out well-structured video experiments (including tracking, measuring, and reporting)
· Develop new business views to identify areas of opportunity
· Collaborate with engineering team to iterate on design and implementation of automation
· Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and teams to iterate on objectives and opportunities
· Communicate regularly with external stakeholders to influence development of ad products and features
· Partner with Legal and BD to drive successful negotiations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of progressive responsibility including experience in online marketing, product management.
· Understanding of online marketing channels such as social media marketing, display advertising, and search engine marketing.
· Excellent awareness of emerging Social Media Platforms.
· Deep analytical abilities, especially with respect to experimental design and analysis.
· Proven track record of successful online marketing experiments.
· Strong understanding of direct response marketing principles and methodologies.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to partner cross-functionally with a variety of teams world-wide.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA or master’s degree in economics, marketing, finance or related fields
· Statistical analysis experience
· Tableau, SQL, or basic data-mining experience
· Experience working with engineering teams
