Position Specific Description
This position is part of the Gas Infrastructure team. NextEra Energy is the largest utility consumer in the United States of natural gas to generate electricity; in 2014, we used 736 Bcf of natural gas. The economics of natural gas are critical to nearly every one of the company’s businesses. NextEra Energy began investing in shale gas production in 2008, and today has more than $1 billion deployed in several shales around the country.
In addition the requirements below it is preferred that the Production Engineer have experience with the following below.
· Ability to generate AFE’s, procedures, and perform work reviews.
· Design artificial lift systems for horizontal unconventional wells with various operating parameters and conditions.
· Monition operation parameters to identify needed changes to the lift design and chemical program to improve run-life and profitability
· Ability to work with third party and in house staff to lead/participate in well failure and chemical treatment reviews
Job Overview
This job provides technical, engineering and operational support for our operated focus areas. Employees in this role are responsible for daily engineering and production activities with an emphasis on job quality, safety and cost associated with all production activities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Pursues and implements new methods and ideas to enhance production, increase operational efficiencies, and decrease expenses on operated properties
- Monitors daily well performance and optimize compressor operations
- Provides technical leadership for field staff
- Promotes, communicates, and commits to Company safety and environmental program
- Assists with management of safe/environmental field operations
- Ensures all government procedures, rules, regulations, and forms are followed and complete
- Works with other departments to help ensure overall business coordination
- Travels to the operations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
