The team members lead and conduct research & development and provide consulting for business units on a wide variety of mathematical technologies. Position Responsibilities: Refines and validates complex problem specifications and leads teams to formulate problem in mathematic terms. Develops complex algorithms and leads evaluation of resources to solve mathematical problems. Leads mathematical research and contributes to the research strategy for the organization. Develops and reviews proposals. Influences program decision makers to use mathematical tools and processes. Forecasts mathematical needs and capabilities. Designs specifications and architectures for mathematical software. Join us, and you can build something better for yourself, for our customers and for the world Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications): This position requires an active Top Secret / Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Advanced degree in optimization, operations research, applied statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence or any related field of applied mathematics. Advanced knowledge and experience in operations research/ optimization/ applied statistics/ machine learning/ artificial intelligence and mathematical algorithm development in an academic, research and/or applied industry environment. Extensive experience in leading & managing several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations. Experienced with and have a passion to develop mathematical algorithms in research & development and apply mathematics to solve hard industrial problems. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Qualifications): Strongly prefer doctorate (or MS with experience) in optimization, operations research, applied statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence or any related field of applied mathematics. Extensive experience in advanced technology research and development and proven leadership in the field. Evidence of intellectual depth as demonstrated by external publications and/or patents. Prefer strong software programming skills and experience of programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab, Java, C, or C++ Excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt to changing environments & work statements and work in multidisciplinary teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences and be a self-starter. Typical Education/Experience: Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 12 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
