Strategic Program Manager – HR

 

The HR Program and Strategy Manager enables successful delivery and execution of the KDP HR portfolio of strategic initiatives through rigorous program management and cohesive planning and governance of the portfolio. Reporting to the Director of HR Strategy, this is a highly visible role within the HR function that helps drive transformation within the HR PMO and Portfolio. Key functions of this role include:

 

  • Governance and planning for the HR Portfolio of Strategic Initiatives including resource management and balancing, risk management and mitigation, timelines and calendars, communications management, change management, status and tracking. Producing quality content related to all aspects of portfolio management including cohesive reporting and messaging across initiatives to keep leadership and the HR organization informed of status, projects, and risks related to the portfolio.
  • Synthesizing inputs across initiatives and projects to maintain initiative reporting dashboard and create and manage agenda, updates, content and messaging for bi-weekly Steering Co meetings with senior leadership team.
  • Supporting the Director of Strategy in facilitating development of the 3-yr portfolio strategy in collaboration with the senior leadership team.
  • Leading change management activities for the portfolio to prepare for the changes that are an outcome of this body of work including coaching team leads and project managers to leverage existing tools, monitoring and raising risks and proposed mitigation.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely communications across the HR Organization to ensure that project sponsors, stakeholders and senior leaders are adequately apprised of project statuses, successes, risks and issues.
  • Continually monitoring and increasing rigor around portfolio governance including project management, project intake, resource management and risk management.
  • Building Project Management skills across the HR Organization through enablement and education activities.

Additionally, this role supports governance of HR aspects of central transformation initiatives which are critical to our function. The HR Program + Strategy Manager partner with stakeholders across the HR organization, PMOs in other functional areas, and the Global TMO to ensure cohesive, timely, relevant and effective projects are implemented in alignment with HR/People objectives.

What this role does:

 

  • Manages the day-to-day governance of the initiative/program portfolio. Implements and consolidates best practices within the organization. Provides consistent project management guidance, methods, systems, tools and metrics for consistent project delivery.
  • Partners with HR Project Management Team, HR PMO owner and PMO leaders from other functional units to ensure standards of quality and project execution across the organization.
  • Governs process to intake new work into the portfolio and facilitate prioritization, strategic alignment, resourcing and decision making.
  • Develops and implements program and change management initiatives.
  • Establishes and champions best practices in project management across HR, liaising with other program management functions within KDP.
  • Owns the implementation and improvement of all applicable PMO processes, templates and training.
  • Oversees the activities of project/program teams within assigned focus areas to ensure delivery of timely solutions that are aligned with the organization’s strategy.
  • Conducts ongoing examination of projects for compliance with established processes, project plans/schedules and budgets, influencing decisions on resource utilization and allocation at key project lifecycle decision points.
  • Demonstrates leadership traits by instilling the culture of execution, operational excellence, and accountability. Breaks down organizational barriers and encourages sharing of ideas across the entire organization

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Exceptional Powerpoint, writing and editing skills. Ability to develop and clearly and concisely present a professional product to multiple levels of management.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities. Partners with senior leaders at the right altitude, providing advisory and program delivery support.
  • Project management experience required, with understanding and ability to apply appropriate methodologies based on the project at hand. Technical project management tool expertise, including smartsheets or similar. A track record of project delivery for large, cross functional projects
  • Excellent at building and managing through relationships across the organization – with peers, upwards, and with center of expertise partners
  • Excellent change management skills. Comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, able to methodically work through complex problems, set priorities and execute on commitments
  • Demonstrated live presentation, facilitation and communication skills, can adjust and level set with a wide variety of skills, audiences and leadership levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to lead, influence, and motivate others
  • Experience driving effective change management techniques and implementation including communications plans
  • Possess broad knowledge covering multiple Human Resources functions
  • Experience with organizational design and process improvement
  • Strong consideration will be given to those that are PMP or Agile certified
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
  • Comfort working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment
  • Must be well organized, able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments
  • B.A./B.S. in Business, Human Resources or related degree, Master’s preferred
  • Ability to uphold safety standards, participate in continuous process improvement on the job, and follow our manufacturing best practices
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions
  • Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures as well as our operating principles
  • Anticipated travel 25-50%
