Description

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-moving entrepreneurial team currently exploring the edges of possibility. We move with speed and purpose, taking calculated risks and failing fast – all with one goal in mind: serving consumers in new and unimagined ways.

In support of that mission, we are seeking a Transition & Operations Manager to work in partnership with our early stage businesses to prototype MVP solutions across a range of operational categories that in turn help support effective transitions of late stage businesses from Valiant Labs into Nike. This role will help develop, develop and implement shared resources, platforms and processes that facilitate operational excellence. With an eye to operational integration, they will work alongside our Entrepreneurs and numerous stakeholders across the Nike matrix to help set the standard for consistency of approach and lay the groundwork for repeatability – at both the strategic level and the implementation of key workstreams.

Our ideal candidate will be comfortable in highly ambiguous conditions. They will be a self-starter with initiative to develop solutions for challenges without an existing playbook, coupled with an ability to work with a range of stakeholders across Nike to create new solutions that enable teams of entrepreneurs to move as fast and efficient as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Map and analyze current state processes, identifying operational pain points, developing recommendations, and ultimately implementing key improvements across process, instruments and governance that allow early stage businesses to move as fast and efficient as possible, with any eye to potential integration
  • Create processes and resources, based on learning and external benchmarking, to guide integration of innovative new business ideas into Nike’s larger operations, taking into account transition timelines, deliverables, and post-integration goals
  • Oversee the creating of the knowledge management suite and performance dashboards to enable regular reporting and operational reviews by the Valiant Lab strategic leadership team
  • Create compelling, interactive visualizations to enhance decision making, preparing data findings with clear action points on a continuous basis for the Valiant Lab strategic leadership team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Strategic Management or related field; MBA a bonus
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience requiring progressively more analytical and strategic capabilities within operations, strategy, consulting and/or planning
  • Exceptional project management skills; the ability to track and manage complex processes, set and assign tasks, and lead multiple workstreams under strict timelines
  • A systems thinker with excellent strategic problem-solving skills and quantitative capabilities
  • Experience in data and reporting coupled with technical proficiency using instruments such as Tableau, AirTable, Excel
  • An ability to develop, track and report the right KPIs and goals; identify information sources, gather and interpret data, and present findings to senior management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex concepts and in an easily understandable way and in doing so impact decision making
  • Bias for action; passionate for results while demonstrating positive attitude and enthusiasm; curious and goal oriented
  • Superb interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally and create trust among those with diverse personal styles
