Overview:

  • Boeing is seeking an experienced Weapon System Command and Control expert with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • This position will help drive all Command and Control on an ICBM program and not only shape the Command and Control designs, interfaces, and system engineering but interface to all other departments on the program including Supplier Management, System Engineering, Test, Contracts, and Finance.
  • The candidate will also be responsible for content in program reviews, customer presentations, and modeling, design, analysis, integration, installation and test of command and control systems.  In order to assist, you must be familiar with model based engineering, C2 expertise in weapon systems and other areas such as cryptography, targeting, nuclear command, control and communications, nuclear command and control, and operations.
  • The individual will work on the WSC2 team and with other ICBM subject matter experts to assess the impacts of vulnerabilities, develop and implement mitigation plans, and document all findings.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Requirements):
  • This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
    • Previous classified program experience a plus.
  • Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with customers and company personnel.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of ICBM operations, including areas such as codes, targeting, NC3, nuclear surety and/or positive control concepts, and nuclear command & control.
  • Desired Candidate will understand Weapons control architectures, messages, sequences, interactions, timing, and analysis of command and control systems.  An understanding of design of systems to manage security and daily operations of complex multi-site weapons systems, Codes and cryptographic architectures, Safety certification of weapons and surety of systems and Integration of communications, security, and weapons into command and control systems

Assets:

  • Working knowledge of communications media (e.g., fiber optics, Radio Frequency (RF)), protocols, cyber security, weapon systems and capabilities. An understanding of effective cybersecurity integration with engineering products and processes is desirable.

Typical Education / Experience:


Level 5:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor’s 14 or more years’ experience, Master’s with 12 or more years’ experience or PhD with 9 or more years’ experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
